Data & Account Deletion

Last updated: April 2026

01Who manages accounts on Schos

Schos is a school management platform. User accounts — students, teachers, guardians, and school administrators — are created and managed by the school the user belongs to, not by Schos directly. Schools use our admin portal to enrol, update, and remove users under their jurisdiction.

This page explains how each type of user can initiate deletion of their account and associated data.

02If you are a school super-administrator

You can request deletion of your entire school account directly from within Schos:

Submitting the request starts a 30-day reconsideration window. All other users at your school are immediately locked out; only you (as super-admin) can sign in during that period, and only to cancel the request if you change your mind. After the window, a Schos platform administrator will review and process the deletion.

If you cannot access the app (forgotten credentials, lost device, or the admin account no longer exists), email us at support@schos.ng with your school name, school code, and a description of the request. We respond within 5 business days.

03If you are a student, teacher, or guardian

Your school owns your academic and administrative records. To request removal of your data:

06Timeline

School deletion requests enter a 30-day reconsideration window. After that window, a Schos platform administrator removes the school's data, typically within 7 business days. Backups are purged within 90 days. Requests made by individual users (through their school) are handled on a rolling basis by the school, usually within 10 business days.
